Design project of private apartments

Do you think it is possible to create something new and fresh from the old? This is a common phenomenon for design. We once again showed how much lines, lighting and color can change the space.

We had a task to create an interesting solution for a two-room apartment where a married couple will live. An important point - we had to work with the old housing stock, and we wanted to make sure that it was not felt.

We started interior design with redevelopment. It was necessary to place the following zones and rooms in the apartment:

  • Bedroom of the owners;
  • Bathroom;
  • Kitchen and dining area;
  • Living room, where guests could stay overnight.

Our goal was a light, bright, airy interior, and it was necessary to hide the inventory and equipment as much as possible. This allows you to significantly unload the composition, without burdening it.

Let's start with the surfaces. It is important for the air concept to keep the height of the ceilings, so we abandoned the ideas with tension, suspension and similar solutions. As for the wiring for light, it was laid superficially and organically inscribed in the composition. This allowed reviving the surface and doing without additional decor - the ceiling already looks interesting, looks complete. We used this move on other surfaces as well.

We made the walls as homogeneous as possible; all the facades of the cabinets were made in the same color and style. The same moldings were placed on the surfaces as on the furniture. As a result, it was possible to preserve the space and visually expand it, to make it concise, integral and full of freedom.

The floor is covered with parquet with a new, very relevant now pattern calculation "French Christmas tree". The coating looks organic, is a great background for the composition of the rooms themselves. The exception is the bathroom and shower, which we revived with modern terrazzo tiles. The choice fell on the picture with small slices of wood on a light gray background, which echoes with other rooms, but looks distinct in combination with white tiles on the walls.

This interior design is filled with an eclectic approach to the choice of furniture and decor. The light, airy outline of the surfaces allows you to combine different styles, create a lively, interesting, unconventional composition, filled with the character of the owners, which continues their personality. But it is done delicately, unobtrusively, without feeling a violation of personal boundaries.

A separate thematic solution is a bedroom. The proportions of the room were uneven, but we harmonized them by zoning with graphite plaster on drywall. This smoothed out the elongated silhouette of the room, allowed to visually separate the toilet area. Elsewhere, the bedroom retains the overall spirit of the apartment.

We always remembered that the house is located in the historic part of the city, so the air conditioning units had to be hidden inside so as not to disturb the facade. The balcony is large: long and narrow, and it was decided to use it to the maximum. We managed to deal with climatic equipment, use partitions to accommodate small cabinets, as well as separate the open seating area. Here you can drink coffee in the fresh air with a beautiful view of the park.

No matter what we start to do: designing the facade of the house, interior design, redevelopment - we always start with who will live there. We perceive what is invisibly floating in the air and transmit it in the form of a plexus of shapes, colors, lighting. We do not create interiors, but rooms with a character and a special magnetism that fascinates and falls in love.
